Monitoring of HIV infection cases at the regional level

Currently in the regions of Russia deterioration of epidemiological situation in HIV infection morbidity occurs. The aim of the study is studying incidence of HIV infection among population of Chuvashia in dynamics. The analysis of official data of the Republic’s statistics (newsletters of Budgetary Institution of the Chuvash Republic «Chuvash Center for Prophylaxis and Fight Against AIDS and Infectious Diseases» and the AIDS Federal center) using standard mathematical calculations with the use of Microsoft Office program is carried out. Epidemic process of HIV infection in the Republic is developing steadily. Sexual way of HIV transmission has considerably intensified. The number of labors in HIV-positive women grows, active HIV transmission among injection drug users and homosexuals continues. It is necessary to enhance preventive maintenance of medical professionals and specialists of mass media, especially among groups of increased risk of HIV infection.
