A clinical case of eosinophilic leukemoid reaction against the background of intestinal giardiasis

Currently, intestinal giardiasis affects not only children, but quite often it is met in adults. The main symptoms of giardiasis are pain in the right hypochondrium, dyspeptic phenomena, bronchospasm, rhinitis, as well as allergic dermatites. In recent years, giardiasis has increasingly been a hidden infection, it does not manifest clinically. This article presents a case of leukemoid reaction of eosinophilic type against the background of intestinal giardiasis. Despite the fact that the elderly patient was admitted to the neurological department with complaints of persistent headaches, heaviness in the head, blood pressure drops, fatigue, memory loss, insomnia and general weakness, she was diagnosed with giardiasis. At this, the only symptom of this pathology was leukocytosis with eosinophilia in her general blood analysis.
