To the question about drinking the ethanol preference in rats

Keywords: rats, ethanol, drinking preference, the Ethanol consumption relative ratio

The drinking preferences of water/ethanol issues considered in a male rats random sample. We propose a new measure to assess the preferences of alcohol consumption – «the Ethanol consumption relative ratio», according to which the experimental population was divided into five groups: non-drunk (3,5% of the animals), moderate drunk (19,8%) who drunk (51,1%), abuse (23,3%), heavy drunk (to 2,3%). It is concluded, in consumption of 5% ethanol the rat’s experimental population the distribution is close to normal. Based on the distribution implies type: the propensity to consume alcohol is genetically determined constitutional peculiarities.
