Classification of postesophagogastrectomy syndromes

Keywords: postesophagogastrectomy syndromes, classification, jejunoesophageal reflux disease

Clinical features of postgastrectomy syndromes and development of their pathogenetically substantiated classification were the aim of the research. A clinical substantiation of a new term – «postesophagogastrectomy syndromes» is given based on outcomes of total gastrectomy with removal of the lower cardioesophageal sphincter in 283 patients. A new classification of postesophagogastrectomy syndromes was offered for use in clinical practice which makes it possible to identify the disease and other pathological syndromes (dumping syndrome, agastric asthenia etc.).
