Using siliconising implants of amnionic membrane «Flecxamer» for treatment persistent corneal defects

The purpose of this work is evaluation of first results of surgical treatment for persistent corneal epithelium defects using silica desiccation plasticized amniotic membrane «flexamer». 28 patients (11 females and 11 males) were followed after corneal amnioplasty for persistent long-unhealed corneal erosion, resistant to traditional therapy. It was shown that temporal corneal covering with silica desiccation plasticized amniotic membrane «flexamer» creates conditions for full epithelialization, which is accompanied by subsidence of corneal syndrome symptoms and visual acuity increasing. In remote postoperative period in 89,3% cases remission is obtained at least during 4 years.
