Comparative characteristics of composition and properties of mixed saliva in children of school age

The aim of this study was to evaluate the quantitative and qualitative changes in the composition and properties of saliva mixed with the definition of the prevalence of dental caries in primary school children of the city of Yakutsk. The study design included a study in 117 children aged 8 years of composition and properties of oral liquid in terms of the rate of salivation, oral fluid viscosity, type microcrystallisation, calcium and alkaline phosphatase, acid – base balance of mixed saliva. The findings dictate the need to intensify activities aimed at neutralizing the identified risk factors and implementation of a comprehensive program of prevention of dental disease in the child population of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
