Pathogenetic justify the use of nsaids in complex treatment of patients with periodontitis

The aim the work was to study the morpho-functional status and bioamines availability in gingival connective tissue in case of inflammatory destructive lesion before NSAIDs application. Biopsy material of 27 patients without inflammation and 30 patients with generalized periodontitis was analyzed with the use of morphological and luminescent-histochemical methods. A significant increase in catecholamines, histamine and serotonin in patients with periodontitis was revealed; a strong direct correlation between the accumulation of biogenic amines and the depth of the periodontal tissue destruction is shown. The resulting information can be used to justify the application of NSAIDs in treatment of patients with periodontal pathology.
