Flavonoids. prospects of their use in antimicrobial therapy

Keywords: antimicrobial therapy, resistance, sensitivity, Escherichia Coli, Staphylococcus Aureus

The results of literature review on antimicrobial activity of flavonoids extracted from medicinal plants are presented. An analysis of literature sources with respect to searching antimicrobial properties of flavonoids against E. Coli, S. Aureus as microorganisms the most rapidly developing resistance in modern conditions was carried out. A comparative analysis of the given microorganisms’ sensitivity to flavonoids was carried out, and the prospects of their introduction as a complement to antimicrobial therapy were evaluated.
