Prevalence of anxiodepressive disorders in rheumatoid arthritis in the Chuvash Republic: specifics of clinical picture and pharmacotherapy
Keywords: rheumatoid arthritis, anxiodepressive disorders, quality of life, pain syndrome, disease activity, psychosomatics
The purpose of this work was to study the prevalence of anxiodepressive disorders (ADD) in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and the clinical features of this condition in patients permanently residing in the Chuvash Republic. During the study it is revealed that in the indicated territory, various ADDs develop in 51% of patients with RA. It has been established that non-working menopausal women or pensioners who are not currently married, with a a lowered pain perception threshold, in later clinical and radiologic stages of the disease having a disability group and taking glucocorticosteroids, are more likely to develop ADDs. In RA patients with ADDs, presence of extra-articular manifestations and complications is more often diagnosed. The conclusion is made that timely diagnosis of mental disorders, first and foremost those of anxiety-depressive spectrum, is necessary for effective complex therapy of RA patients.
